Great Teams for a Great Future: The Warren Rupp and Abel Brand Partnership

One of the core tenants of the IDEX organization is a strong emphasis on the value of building great teams. One of those instances is taking place right now. Abel, a well-established German electric pump manufacturer, is now partnered with Warren Rupp, the leader in air-operated double-diaphragm pump technology, on a joint venture to penetrate new markets and expand the reach of each business unit in their respective enterprises.

Folded into the IDEX family of brands in Spring 2021, Abel brings with it well over half a century of pumping expertise, specifically in electric motor pumps. Their Buchen, Germany headquarters and pumping roots dating back to 1947 make them a key player in the European market. Abel recognized the underutilization of their smaller electric diaphragm pumps, especially outside of Europe, and that became a targeted growth area for their business.

That’s where Warren Rupp entered the picture. Part of the IDEX organization since 1986, Warren Rupp has consistently been a leader in air-operated double-diaphragm pumps in the United States and across the globe. Largely accomplished by building the highest quality product and maintaining great relationships with a vast distribution network, especially in the USA, made the partnership between Abel and Warren Rupp an easy decision.

The leadership of each business saw a perfect pairing. A way to test the United States market for electric diaphragm pumps, specifically the EM Series of pumps, coming from Abel with a long history of high performance, sold through a network of top-tier distribution, there was no better way to supply customers with an opportunity to purchase electric diaphragm pumps.

The ABEL EM is a mechanically driven diaphragm pump that is highly energy efficient, because the drive does not require expensive compressed air. Its compact, special design does not require hydraulic fluid and it can be suitably equipped to provide the performance required by each specific application. This robust pump technology is especially advantageous for many applications that require low pressure.

The leadership of each business unit recognizes the huge potential a partnership like this could manifest, and they’ve worked from that big idea from the word “go”.
